Professional Counseling

PHD’s Professional Counselors work with clients to identify and work towards treating symptoms of mental health issues, create goals toward wellness, and offer guidance and support. We also offer counseling services to fathers, grandparents, and other family caregivers. Our services are offered in English and Spanish by professionals who have attained master’s degrees. Our Professional Counseling services handle a variety of issues that may include:

  • Perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, such as Postpartum Depression
  • Grief due to the loss of pregnancy or infant
  • Transitioning to parenthood
  • Parents with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit babies
  • Difficulties with parenting
  • Couples issues due to pregnancy and parenting
  • Crisis intervention
  • Infertility issues
  • Illinois Department of Child & Family Services (DCFS) cases

Our Professional Counseling services are offered on a sliding scale based on annual household income and number of dependents. PHD never turns anyone seeking services away due to an inability to pay.
